- Detection angle of 100° and range exceeding 15 m with protection of the area under the detector
Application and working conditions
The OPAL GY detector is ideal for outdoor protection of buildings, as well as for interiors with difficult or specific environmental conditions, such as halls or sheds. Thanks to the dual technology (PIR + MW) and the algorithm of autoadaptation to environmental conditions, the device is characterized by high resistance to false alarms. The detector provides stable operation in adverse atmospheric conditions such as rain, snow, fog, strong wind and sunshine, and digital temperature compensation allows the detector to maintain correct detection from -40°C to +55°C.
The device offers a detection angle of 100° and a range of more than 15 meters, while protecting the area directly under the detector, which allows detection of attempted approaches to damage or break the device. The OPAL series software is designed so that the movement of small pets weighing up to 20 kg does not trigger a false alarm, making it easy to use the detector in property environments with pets present.
Design, installation and tamper protection
The OPAL GY housing is made using two-component polycarbonate injection molding technology, which provides high mechanical strength, UV resistance and splash-proofing confirmed by the IP54 protection class. The detector's electronics are well protected against harmful atmospheric phenomena, and it is also possible to mount optional HOOD C (white) or HOOD C GY (gray) protective canopies, which increase protection against precipitation and dirt.
The detector can be mounted directly on a flat surface or with dedicated brackets from the BRACKET C (white or gray BRACKET C GY) and BRACKET E kits. The angle bracket from BRACKET C allows mounting at a fixed angle of 45°, while the ball bracket allows adjustment up to 60° vertically and up to 90° horizontally. The BRACKET E kit (GY versions) includes components that allow the detector to be moved away from the wall by up to several centimeters, as well as adjustable mounting (BRACKET E-1 body, BRACKET E-2B insert, BRACKET E-3 spacer with a height of 30 mm, BRACKET E-4 base with a height of 20 mm, BRACKET E-5 ball mount with a range of 60° vertically and 90° horizontally, and BRACKET E-6 tamper sensor with one NO/NC switch and 50 cm cables). The device has tamper protection against opening the housing and detachment from the ground.
Detection functions and configuration
OPAL GY uses two detection paths: passive infrared (PIR) and microwave, with the microwave path also performing an anti-masking function. This combination, along with the auto-adaptation algorithm, ensures effective intruder detection while reducing false alarms. The detector allows to configure the sensitivity of the detection paths using buttons located on the PCB, which allows to adjust the operating parameters to the specifics of the protected area. The device has alarm, tamper and anti-mask outputs in the form of NC relays with specific load parameters, while maintaining low standby and operating current consumption.
