OPAL PLus GY outdoor dual motion detector with anti-masking and twilight sensor
OPAL PLus GY is a wired outdoor dual-mode motion detector combining PIR and microwave detection with anti-masking function realized by the microwave path. The device is designed to operate in harsh weather conditions, providing stable detection over a wide temperature range.
- Dual detection technology: PIR and microwave (MW)
- Anti-masking function realized by the microwave path
- Built-in twilight sensor with OC type output
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +55°C with digital compensation
- Weatherproof housing with IP54 protection class, gray color (GY)
Application and working environment
The OPAL PLus GY detector is designed for outdoor protection of buildings, as well as interiors with difficult or specific environmental conditions, such as halls or sheds. The dual technology used, combined with the algorithm of auto-adaptation to environmental conditions, provides high resistance to false alarms in the presence of rain, snow, fog, strong wind or sunshine.
The device features a detection angle of about 100° and a range of more than 15 meters, with additional protection of the area directly below the detector. The design meets the requirements of environmental class IIIa according to EN50130-5, allowing correct operation in the temperature range from -40°C to +55°C and at a maximum humidity of 93±3%.
Detection, anti-masking and automation functions
OPAL PLus GY uses two detection paths - passive infrared (PIR) and microwave (MW), which, combined with an auto-adaptive signal analysis algorithm, increases detection efficiency and operational stability. The detector has an anti-masking function implemented by the microwave path and the option of not detecting small pets up to 20 kg, which reduces the number of unwanted alarms.
The built-in twilight sensor controls the OC-type output (D/N), so the detector can also be used as part of a home automation system, for example, to control outdoor lighting, roller blinds or gates. Configuration of the sensitivity of the detection paths and the twilight sensor can be carried out using buttons on the PCB or remotely using the OPT-1 infrared remote control, without having to open the housing each time.
Mechanical design and installation
The OPAL PLus GY housing is made of polycarbonate in two-component injection molding technology, which ensures splash-proof (IP54), high mechanical resistance and resistance to UV radiation. Additional protection against precipitation and dirt can be obtained by using the HOOD C GY canopy.
The detector can be mounted directly on a flat surface or with dedicated brackets from the BRACKET C and BRACKET E sets, including ball brackets that allow adjustment up to 60° vertically and up to 90° horizontally. The device is equipped with tamper protection against opening and detachment, and the recommended mounting height is 2.4 meters.
