OPAL PLus is an outdoor dual-mode motion detector for outdoor and indoor applications in harsh environments, equipped with PIR and microwave detection paths and an anti-masking function implemented by the MW path. The device provides stable operation over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +55°C, features a detection angle of 100° and a range of more than 15m, as well as a built-in twilight sensor with OC output for use in automation systems.

Application and detection functions
The OPAL PLus detector is designed for outdoor use, as well as in spaces with difficult or specific environmental conditions, such as halls or sheds. Dual technology (PIR + MW) combined with an autoadaptation algorithm to environmental conditions provides high resistance to false alarms and stable operation in rain, snow, fog, strong wind and sunlight.
The detector offers a detection angle of 100° and a range of more than 15 meters, with protection also for the area directly under the detector, which makes it possible to detect approach attempts and tampering. The OPAL PLus series software is designed so that the movement of small pets (up to 20 kg) does not trigger an alarm, increasing the convenience of the system.
Integration with automation and installation convenience
OPAL PLus is equipped with a built-in twilight sensor controlling the OC output, which allows it to be used in home automation alarm systems without the need to install separate twilight sensors. The low-current output can be connected directly to a relay in the electrical switchboard or automation controller, and the detector can work with KNX system via INTEGRA series control panels, allowing control of roller shutters, outdoor lighting, garage door or entrance gate.
Configuration of the sensitivity of the detection paths and the twilight sensor can be carried out using buttons on the PCB or remotely using the OPT-1 infrared remote control, thanks to the built-in signal receiver, which eliminates the need to open the housing repeatedly. The detector's design allows it to be mounted directly on a flat surface or using dedicated BRACKET C and BRACKET E mounts, including ball mounts adjustable up to 60° vertically and 90° horizontally and spacers to increase the distance from the wall.

The OPAL PLus enclosure is made of polycarbonate with two-component injection molding technology, which ensures a splash-proof construction with IP54 rating and protection of electronics from harmful atmospheric phenomena. The housing material is characterized by high mechanical strength and UV resistance, which is conducive to long-term expLoatation in outdoor conditions.
The detector correctly operates in environmental class IIIa according to EN50130-5, with a maximum humidity of 93±3% and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +55°C with digital temperature compensation. Two color versions are available: white (OPAL PLus) and gray (OPAL PLus GY), and the installation can be further complemented with a HOOD C (white) or HOOD C GY (gray) protective canopy, which increases protection against precipitation and dirt.
