Description and application
The APMD-250 wireless motion detector is designed for use in ABAX 2 and ABAX two-way wireless systems, where it is an element of an intrusion detection system. For motion detection, it simultaneously uses a passive infrared sensor (PIR) with a double pyroelement and a microwave (MW) path, which significantly increases the effectiveness of intruder detection and resistance to interference. The detector is characterized by high resistance to false alarms and supervision of the detection system, which signals possible malfunctions.
As standard, the APMD-250 is equipped with a modern wide-angle lens, which provides a maximum detection area of 15 m x 24 m at an angle of 90°. It is possible to replace the lens with a curtain lens (CT-CL) or a long-range lens (LR-CL), which allows to adjust the detection characteristics to the specifics of the protected area. The use of an adjustable mirror also makes it possible to protect the detector's approach zone. An LED indicator signaling violations in test mode facilitates the process of commissioning and site selection.
Connectivity, configuration and power supply
The APMD-250 detector works with ABAX 2 system controllers (ACU-220, ACU-280) and ARU-200 retransmitter, as well as with ABAX system controllers (ACU-120, ACU-270, ACU-250, ACU-100 version min. 4.04), INTEGRA 128-WRL control panel and ARU-100 retransmitter - the required software version of each device should be checked in their descriptions in each case. The range of radio communication in the open area is up to 2000 m in ABAX 2 system with ACU-220 controller and up to 1600 m with ACU-280, while in ABAX system it is up to 500 m with ACU-270 and ACU-120 controllers. Radio communication in ABAX 2 system is encrypted in AES standard, and configuration and update of the detector software are performed remotely.
The APMD-250 is powered by a CR123A 3 V battery, features low current consumption (75 µA in standby), and has a running battery check. The ECO function, available in the ABAX 2 system, allows up to four times the operating time on a single battery, and the expected battery life is up to 2 years depending on the conditions of thepLoatation. The detector belongs to environmental class II according to EN 50130-5, can operate in a temperature range of -10°C to +55°C with a maximum humidity of 93±3%, and is equipped with tamper protection against opening the housing and detachment from the ground, as well as an adjustable bracket for wall or ceiling mounting.
