AGATE - outdoor curtain PIR+MW motion detector with IR antimasking
AGATE is an outdoor curtain motion detector belonging to the group of perimeter protection devices, designed for use outdoors and in interiors with harsh environmental conditions. The device uses two detection paths (PIR and microwave) and active IR anti-masking, meeting the requirements of Grade 3 protection according to EN 50131.
- Dual detection technology: PIR track and microwave (MW) track
- Active IR anti-masking for indoor applications
- Narrow detection angle of 10° and range of 14 m (curtain of approximately 1 m wide)
- Weatherproof polycarbonate housing with IP54 rating
- Meets Grade 3 protection requirements according to EN 50131
Application and functions of the AGATE detector
The AGATE detector is designed for perimeter protection, ideally suited for securing outdoor zones around buildings and indoor spaces with difficult or specific conditions, such as halls or sheds. With a narrow detection angle of 10° and a range of 14 m, it forms a protective curtain of about 1 m wide at the maximum distance, allowing precise surveillance of narrow passageways, window and door lines.
Dual detection technology (PIR + MW), combined with an algorithm for autoadaptation to environmental conditions, ensures high resistance to false alarms. The detector maintains stable operation in harsh atmospheric conditions such as rain, snow, strong sunlight and air gusts, and the built-in automatic temperature compensation enables correct operation over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +55°C.
Design, installation and accessories
The AGATE detector's housing is made using two-component polycarbonate injection molding technology, which ensures splash-proof (IP54), high mechanical strength and UV resistance. In addition, it is possible to mount a HOOD A protective canopy on the housing, which increases resistance to precipitation and pollution. The detector has tamper protection against opening the housing and detachment from the ground.
The unit's design allows it to be mounted directly on a flat surface or with dedicated brackets. An angle mount with a fixed tilt of 90° is available, as well as adjustable BRACKET A and BRACKET B mounts (recommended for indoor mounting), which allow adjustment of the tilt angle to approximately 30° and the rotation angle to 90°. The BRACKET E (modular) bracket is used to move the detector away from the wall at a distance of up to several centimeters, which is particularly useful for mounting near gutters or lamps that limit the detection field.
BRACKET E mounting brackets - construction and capabilities
The BRACKET E kit consists of several elements that allow you to flexibly adjust the position of the AGATE detector relative to the wall or ceiling. The BRACKET E-1 (GY) component is the body for mounting the BRACKET E-2A insert, while the BRACKET E-2A (GY) is the insert for mounting AGATE curtain detectors, also using BRACKET A or BRACKET B brackets. The 30 mm high BRACKET E-3 (GY) distance allows additional offset from the ground, while the BRACKET E-4 (GY) acts as a 20 mm high base.
The BRACKET E and BRACKET B mounts have a closed design with an internal channel for cable routing, which allows to hide the wiring and improves the aesthetics of the installation. All of the listed brackets are suitable for both wall and ceiling mounting. To increase the security of the installation, the BRACKET E-6 tamper sensor element is also available (1 NO/NC switch, 50 cm long wires).
