Magnetic dirt separator ADS 160 with insulation
Magnetic dirt separator ADS 160 with insulation is a device designed for heating and cooling systems, usually installed on the return line before the heat source. It works through a double filtration system: **magnetic and mechanical**, which allows it to effectively capture metallic particles and other impurities suspended in the medium.
Application
- Central heating and cooling installations
- Installation before the heat source on the return of the system
- Systems where it is necessary to clean the medium of sediment and metallic particles
- Systems with water or water-glycol mixture (up to 50% concentration)
Technical data
| Connection type | Movable, 2 × GW G1" |
| Kvs | 6.9 m³/h |
| Recommended flow rate | 2.1 m³/h |
| Maximum operating pressure | 3 bar |
| Maximum medium temperature | 90 °C |
| Materials and construction | Polyamide (PA66) housing, EPDM seals, stainless steel filter nets (500 µm and 800 µm), neodymium magnet of approx. 14,000 Gs |
Advantages and special features
- Dual filtration system: mechanical and magnetic - effective purification of the medium
- Thermal insulation to reduce heat loss
- Rotatable connection - easy installation in vertical and horizontal systems
- Easy removal of sediment via drain valve
- Seal protects the magnet from unauthorized removal
- Provides protection for the pump and other equipment from wear caused by contamination
Installation and operation notes
- Always install the separator with the drain valve facing downward
- It is recommended to install shut-off valves before and after the separator for easier maintenance
- Manual air vent is used to remove air after filling the system
- After some time of operation, the 500 µm filter mesh can be replaced with 800 µm in older systems
- The concentration of glycol in the system should not exceed 50% to maintain the effectiveness of magnetic separation
